Best Time to Perform Umrah

Umrah is a holy pilgrimage for Muslims. Although it is not a religious obligation, yet hundreds of thousands of Muslims travel every year for performing the Sunnah. Umrah holds great rewards for pilgrims. It increases one’s health, eliminates poverty, removes sins, offers an opportunity to visit Haramain, goes for the Ziyarath of Holy Sites of Islam and also provides a fresh start of life. For this reason, people book their Umrah packages all inclusive and depart for the spiritual journey of a lifetime.

In Islam, it has been recommended for Muslims to follow-up on the performance of Umrah. Because it is one of the best ways to get closer to Allah Almighty. The month of December.

December is the most comfortable time to go for a lesser pilgrimage. With a temperature averaging out between 16-25 Degrees Celsius, one doesn’t feel too tired or exhausted during the performance of holy rituals. Thus, for elderly people or people gong with their families, December is the best season as the pilgrims are not too much in number there. 

Ramadan. 

Ramadan is crowned as the best month to go for Umrah. As it’s the closing of the umrah season as well as the reward of Umrah is much higher in Ramadan, Haram gets filled with a sea of pilgrims. Its one of the most crowded yet the most beautiful times to go for the performance of minor pilgrimage. The hotels, food, flights, transportation are usually a bit expensive. Therefore, if you are traveling alone or with a family, it’s the best time.

Right after Hajj ends.

As the hajj completes, it’s the opening of the Umrah season (from 1st of Moharram). Pilgrims that came for hajj return and not so many people are coming for umrah as it’s the start of the season. People in Haram are few in number as compared to other months. Hotel accommodations are present at half or even 30% of the actual price. Flights are discounted. Thus, remains one of the most peaceful time for Umrah performance.

Umrah is such an Ibadat that can be performed whenever you want and as many times as you wish. There isn’t any specific time for umrah. However, some months remain more sacred for the pilgrimage. Although performing umrah in those months isn’t necessary but Allah Almighty increases the blessings during that time.
